Moldova Business Regulatory, Investment, and Trade Environment

Project Dates: June 2012 - June 2016
With assistance, Moldova has made significant reforms that support businesses and enhance the country’s economy.

Over the past several years, Moldova has made considerable progress in reforming its business environment. The USAID Moldova Business Regulatory, Investment, and Trade Environment (BRITE) project helped the government of Moldova make reforms that attracted investment, encouraged entrepreneurship, increased competitiveness, and solidified the foundation of the country’s market economy. BRITE focused on reforms that the private sector identified as impediments to doing business in Moldova. The project conducted an assessment and analysis of Moldova’s business enabling environment and then identified reforms with a high probability of success that would have a significant impact and wide support. Through this process, BRITE enabled the government, private sector, and civil society to design and implement reforms that reduce the costs and risks of doing business in Moldova.
