Zrda Activity

Project Dates: March 2016 - December 2021
From armed conflict to civil unrest to transport obstructions, Georgia has faced numerous obstacles to economic growth and now aims to create a stronger business environment.

Micro-, small-, and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) play a critical role in Georgia’s economy, but without the proper support, they have been unable to realize their full potential. The USAID Zrda activity in Georgia targets MSMEs across the country to help people in rural communities strengthen their skills and productivity and, in turn, contribute to broad-based economic growth and resilience. Partnering with four local grassroots organizations, Zrda also encourages cooperation between the public and private sectors to create a shared vision of improved livelihoods.

Project Goals

  • Develop MSMEs’ skills to strengthen their competitiveness and maximize their profits
  • Improve rural households’ ability to create and maintain multiple sources of income
  • Foster enduring market linkages of rural households, trade associations, civil society groups, and other local stakeholders to strengthen the market system
