Pension Reform Implementation Program (PRIP)

Project Dates: March 2013 - December 2016
Armenia is taking steps to improve social and economic protections for its elderly citizens.

In Armenia, citizens 65 years and older make up the largest percentage of the country’s poor population. To reduce old-age poverty and promote the income security of the elderly, the government decided to prioritize pension reform. The USAID Pension Reform Implementation Program (PRIP) worked with the Armenian government, the private sector, and civil society to create a more efficient and integrated social services system and provide the elderly with more social and economic protections. Through this collaboration, the program increased the capacity of government agencies to implement pension reform.
