We work with governments, civil society, local authorities, traditional leaders, and community actors across the globe to address and prevent conflict and violence. Using education, workforce development, and civic and political engagement, we empower vulnerable communities to play a key role in preventing community violence. In Burkina Faso, we train young leaders in conflict prevention, management, and advocacy techniques while bolstering community resilience. In Mexico, we support civil society organizations that work directly with at-risk youth to drive down crime and violence. In marginalized and conflict-prone areas of Lebanon, we have led activities encouraging youth to become leaders by fostering critical thinking skills, civic engagement, and desire to participate in the political process. By preventing conflict at its roots, we promote inclusive and sustainable peace.

Learning Environments in Kosovo

From building a playground to installing a heating system, USAID Advancing Kosovo Together enhanced a school’s facilities in order to create a productive and safe learning environment that fosters inter-ethnic relationship building.

Linkages Between Producers and Markets

USAID Advancing Kosovo Together helps build local economies. For one man, raspberry seedlings provided through a municipal program helped him solidify his career as a raspberry supplier in the area.
