Chemonics held its 7th annual Rule of Law Summit on November 1-2, 2023 in Washington, D.C.
The Rule of Law Summit convened a global network of Rule of Law practitioners, donors, implementers, and thought leaders who shared concrete and transferable learning on current trends and practices in people-centered justice approaches to inform the implementation and impact of USAID’s Rule of Law programs.
Reflecting USAID Administrator Samantha Power’s call for “progress beyond programs,” the summit’s overall theme was “Justice Beyond Programs.” During this in-person summit, experts discussed their experience incorporating that message into their efforts to promote the rule of law and people-centered justice around the world. Plenary sessions and small group discussions featured reports from site visits to projects in Kosovo, Colombia, and Mexico on the approaches USAID-funded projects used to make a tangible and sustainable impact on people’s lives.
