News: Chemonics Earns “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” Designation for Second Consecutive Year
February 3, 2022 | 2 Minute ReadThe Human Rights Campaign Foundation awarded Chemonics a perfect score for LGBTQ+ workplace equality for the second year in a row.
Last week, the Human Rights Campaign Foundation announced that Chemonics received a score of 100 on the foundation’s Corporate Equality Index, the nation’s foremost survey and report on corporate policies and practices affecting LGBTQ+ workplace equality. This marks the second consecutive year Chemonics earned a top score, retaining the company’s status as one of the best places for LGBTQ+ workplace equality.
The achievement was realized by Chemonics staff, particularly members of the ChemPRIDE employee resource group. The employee-led group empowers Chemonics’ global workforce to reach its full career potential by creating a work environment for all to bring their authentic selves to work, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, or sexual characteristics.
“When we were awarded the designation of “Best Place to Work for LGBTQ Equality” by the Human Rights Campaign last year, I knew that this amazing milestone was the first marker and just the beginning of a journey to enhance LGBTQ+ inclusion across our organization,” stated Chemonics Executive Vice President and ChemPRIDE ERG sponsor Chris Scott. “I am not surprised and so proud that we have achieved a perfect score for the second year in a row, as our allyship and support for the global LGBTQ+ community remains as important as ever.”
The Corporate Equality Index assesses three main criteria across mid-to-large businesses (500 full-time employees and above). Key areas include:
- Nondiscrimination policies across business entities
- Equitable benefits for LGBTQ+ workers and their families
- Supporting an inclusive culture and corporate social responsibility
