Communications Specialist | Part Time, Remote | 2024

Chemonics seeks a Part Time Communications Specialist for the ongoing FCDO and Norad funded MOBILIST programme working 1 day per week. Mobilizing Institutional Capital Through Listed Product Structures’ (MOBILIST) is a programme targeting listed markets for their potential to mobilize large scale investment flows. Its overarching strategic objective is to help catalyst new vehicles for financial intermediation (through a public market approach) that begin to accelerate investment flows needed to bridge the financing gap. The programme seeks to partner with the financial services industry in developing listed products that can intermediate this capital, and in a form that responds to the prudential regulations and investment models that today define the scope of opportunity for institutional capital.

As the programme continues its implementation phase, Chemonics requires the services of a Communications Specialist to support the effective implementation of its communications strategy and related workstream activities. We are looking for individuals who have a passion for making a difference in the lives of people around the world.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Engage in preparatory reading of MOBILIST’s programme documentation
  • Manage and administer programme communications channels including social media (event social media, blog social media)
  • Produce and implement dissemination strategies for MOBILIST research portfolio
  • Responsible for day-to-day website management including content production and uploads and website updates
  • Provide analytics across communications channels and recommend adaptations to achieve target programme outcomes
  • Draft MOBILIST newsletters
  • Provide inputs and direction to graphic designer on publications and production, proofreading support and coordinate relevant digital content such as infographics
  • Support communications for MOBILIST Product Platform including key messages, press releases, partner management, investee communication oversight and management
  • Support event promotion and logistics
  • Consistently following FCDO regulations and Chemonics policies and quality management best practices

 

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, public relations, social sciences, international development, or related field required
  • Minimum five years’ experience in communications and knowledge management, including experience writing and producing reports, creating knowledge management strategies, and/or other technical knowledge management and communications products/strategies for a donor-funded project
  • Experience working with FCDO preferred
  • Experience in communications and public relations within the financial sector (asset management, private equity, impact investment or development finance preferred).
  • Basic understanding of development finance and relevant terminology helpful
  • Digital experience, especially html and/or graphic design, considered useful
  • Knowledge and administration of social media outlets required
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Indesign and WordPress required
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, versatility, and integrity
  • Fluency in English required
