Digital Transaction of Carbon Credits

Burka Avenger! Super Heroes with Super Powers

Superheroes wear cloaks. Superheroes wear masks. And Pakistani superhero Jiya even dons a burqa to transform into a passionate defender of girls’ right to education. Launched in 2013, the Burka Avenger animated series centers around a much-loved female superhero who is a passionate advocate for girls’ education. It uses arresting visuals and vivid colors to synthesize complex information into digestible stories. This conversation will explore the sociopolitical context that gives birth to superheroes, the energy that keeps them going, and the power of animated storytelling to bring about social change.
