Technical Experts | Pacific Islands | 2024

Chemonics is seeking technical experts for the anticipated USAID Pacific Economic Growth Activity. The Activity will help advance economic growth, climate resilience, and inclusive development in two geographical areas: 1) Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, and Vanuatu; and 2) Fiji, Kiribati, Palau, Republic of Marshall Islands, Federated States of Micronesia, Nauru, Samoa, Tonga, and Tuvalu. Key focal themes are likely to include strengthening public financial management, supporting local SMEs to access markets and financing and improve their climate resiliency, and facilitating trade and private investment.

We are currently looking for technical experts in the following areas:

  • Public finance management
  • Agricultural and food security
  • Trade and investment
  • Workforce development
  • Private sector investment
  • Climate resilience

Ideal candidates must have the following general qualifications:

  • At a minimum, a bachelor’s degree in the relevant technical subject
  • Working experience and in-depth knowledge of the operating context in the Pacific Islands
  • Minimum 8 years of professional work experience
  • Experience with USAID and/or similar donors preferred
  • Strong writing and interpersonal skills
  • Fluency speaking, reading, and writing in English and local language of the target country
