Supply Chain Integration in Malawi: Strengthening National Ownership of Supply Chains .
Event | September 30, 2020
This presentation explains how the Malawi Supply Chain Integration Project developed capacity of local staff and created a master supply chain transformation plan.
The Malawi Supply Chain Integration project works in partnership with the Ministry of Health (MOH) and its stakeholders to integrate Malawi’s parallel supply chains by embedding a Project Management Team (PMT) at the Central Medical Stores Trust (CMST). The project’s primary goal is to assist the MOH in building a patient-centered national health commodity supply chain, particularly to address pandemics such as HIV/AIDS, Malaria, TB and COVID-19. This presentation, delivered at the 12th Health and Humanitarian Logistics Conference, explains how the project developed a master supply chain transformation plan, a comprehensive five-year road map to ensure central- to lower-level supply chains meet all of the national supply chain requirements, while working to further build capacity of the health supply chain in Malawi.
