Water and Natural Resource Specialist Scott Short

Scott Short is a water and natural resource specialist with more than 35 years of experience managing WASH and water security, institutional strengthening, large-scale infrastructure construction, emergency and disaster relief, environmental remediation, and land and natural resource management programs. He has worked in the Middle East, Africa, Central Asia, and Europe with significant experience in conflict areas. Scott was the chief of party for the USAID Lowland WASH Activity in Ethiopia. He has also served as chief of party for USAID projects in the West Bank and Gaza, Lebanon, Afghanistan, Turkey, and Syria and as a home office project director for numerous projects at Chemonics. A retired colonel in the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Scott holds a master’s degree in business administration from Boston University and a bachelor’s degree in pulp and paper technology and science from North Carolina State University.
