Laurence Yese

Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning Advisor Laurence Yese

Laurence Yese is a monitoring and evaluation specialist with more than 15 years of experience designing and implementing monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems and tools for development programs in Nigeria, including water, sanitation, and hygiene (WASH), governance, and community health systems. Laurence holds a bachelor of science degree in statistics and computer science education from the University of Agriculture Makurdi and a postgraduate diploma in society and development from the University of Abuja, Nigeria. He has 10 years of experience applying research and learning to achieve outcomes in institutional capacity building, legislative and regulatory reforms, community systems strengthening, and stakeholder engagement. Laurence was also a MEL specialist on the World Bank Multi-Sectoral Crisis Recovery Program where he provided monitoring and evaluation expertise to the NEDC-NERSP PMC Cell and oversaw all MEL activities of the project implementation units across the MCRP States of Borno, Adamawa, and Yobe.

Prior to joining Chemonics, Laurence worked with multiple donor’s funded organizations like RTI International, DAI Global LLC, Tetra Tech, FHI360, and Civil Society for HIV and AIDS In Nigeria. He currently serves as the MEL advisor on the Lagos Urban WASH project.
