Building Resilience into a River Basin .
Project Success Story | March 2, 2021
This success story provides an overview of how the Resilient Waters program improves transboundary natural resources management by targeting local municipalities around the Limpopo River and Okavango basins.
Along the Limpopo River, USAID is tackling severe water and sanitation challenges in targeted municipalities and protected areas from the river’s source in South Africa to its mouth at the Indian Ocean on the coast of Mozambique. This success story highlights how the Resilient Waters Program’s support to local municipalities living around the river to strengthen institutional connections, build up partnerships, and address the shocks and stresses of climate change will help mitigate the pressures on the Limpopo River Basin for years to come.
