Team Leader, Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA) Fund Mark Lawler

Mark Lawler is the Team Leader for the FCDO programme, The Research and Innovation Systems for Africa (RISA) Fund. RISA is a multi-country fund, with the core team based in Nairobi, Kenya and partnerships across 6 African countries. Previously, Mark worked on several USAID-funded projects for Chemonics in Kenya, Cote d’Ivoire and Rwanda as well as on new business for the Africa region. Mark also previously served as Programme Director on the DFID Deepening Democracy Project in Kenya. With a background in education and many years’ experience in education and democracy and governance programming, his particular interest in where the two technical areas intersect. He holds Masters Degrees in Education and in Rural Development.
