Chief of Party, Kyrgyz Republic Agro Trade Activity Maksat Iskakov
Maksat Iskakov has over 20 years of leadership experience in business and international development, driving growth and innovation across sectors, particularly in agriculture, trade, and sustainable development. His expertise lies in managing complex, multi-stakeholder projects, with a proven track record of building strong public-private partnerships, fostering SME growth, and enhancing trade relations.
Before transitioning to development work, Maksat gained significant experience in manufacturing, retail, trading, e-commerce, and consultancy, where he oversaw marketing and innovation strategies. As a business consultant, he has successfully implemented projects funded by USAID, the World Bank, GIZ, SDC, and other prestigious organizations. His work focuses on supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to create jobs, increase sales, attract investment, adopt new technologies, and build capacity.
Currently, Maksat leads the USAID Kyrgyz Republic Agro Trade Activity (ATA), where his focus is on agricultural development, trade facilitation, and private sector engagement. Additionally, he mentors women and youth, promoting sustainable agricultural practices and empowering the next generation of leaders.
Maksat holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration from Kyrgyz National University.
