Deputy Chief of Party Elisha John Soni

Elisha John Soni is a water utility operations expert with three decades of experience leading water, sanitation and hygiene (WASH) projects in Nigeria. Elisha has proven expertise in the management and implementation of WASH intervention projects, providing system and efficiency improvement solutions towards reimagining public utilities. His extensive experience includes utility upstream and downstream operations, governance, institutional development, management, commercialization, and development of water supply service delivery and infrastructure. Elisha currently serves as the current deputy chief of party on the Lagos Urban WASH project.

Prior to joining Chemonics, he briefly served as deputy chief of party on the WASH Coordination Project where he was embedded with the Bauchi State Water Corporation. During his time with the project, he designed, negotiated, and brokered a reform program that led to the establishment of a vibrant WASH institutional framework, the formation of delegated management units, and a 200% increase in revenue collection. He is a fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants and a 2015 Nigerian Merit Gold Award Winner for Productivity from Platinum Standard Publication Ltd.
