Senior Advisor Amer Barghouth

Amer Barghouth is a senior advisor with Chemonics’ Sustainable Energy Transition practice. He is focused on climate change and clean energy, and has nearly 20 years of multidisciplinary experience in sustainable development, public and private sector engagement, access to finance, innovation, and market research.

Amer has significant experience in the design and implementation of technical assistance programs and financing mechanisms for the green economy. He has worked with private sector companies, nongovernmental organizations, financial institutions, and government agencies to build partnerships to decarbonize supply chains and scale up markets for climate-smart technologies.

Amer has proven experience leveraging public funds to promote private investments in clean energy in developing economies. Throughout his career, he has built and nurtured a wide network of stakeholders, representing international financial institutions, development agencies, private enterprises, and nongovernmental organizations.
