Chief of Party Linda Manyuchi
Linda Manyuchi is the chief of party for the USAID South Africa Low Emissions Development (SA-LED) program. She has worked in the area of climate change mitigation and sustainable energy for 14 years. Trained as an environmental scientist, Ms. Manyuchi started her career as a researcher at South Africa’s Council for Scientific and Industrial Research. She also served as a deputy director and director for the Department of Science and Technology, working in the areas of environment, climate change, and energy. She was later the director of climate change and air quality with the City of Johannesburg Metropolitan Municipality. At the City of Johannesburg, she successfully managed a 15 million rand project funded by the Danish International Development Agency (DANIDA). The project retrofitted 700 houses in Cosmo City with energy efficient technologies. During a three-year contract with the South African Local Government Association, Ms. Manyuchi managed an energy efficiency program that was funded by the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) and targeted at municipalities. Prior to her role as SA-LED chief of party, she worked as an independent consultant for a year.
