Team Leader, USAID Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism Project Joseph Ruddy
Joseph Ruddy is a senior manager and international development specialist with more than 30 years of experience in workforce development, education, training, quality assurance, and industry development in tourism. Mr. Ruddy currently serves as the team leader for the USAID Building Economic Sustainability through Tourism project in Jordan. He has 10 years of experience in the private sector tourism industry and has implemented tourism management projects in the Middle East, Europe, Asia, and Africa for donors including USAID, the World Bank, and the European Union. He has written approximately 140 research studies on the tourism industry with a focus on development, education, training, and workforce development. Prior to entering international development, Mr. Ruddy spent over 25 years in education development and management at the technical and university levels. He holds a Ph.D from the University of Salford and an M.A. and B.Sc. from the University of Dublin-Trinity College.
