We are dedicated to creating an inclusive space for all our employees and extending this culture of inclusion into our work.

At Chemonics, diversity and inclusion (D&I) are integral to our mission. We believe that our workforce should reflect the vast diversity of the communities we serve, and that diverse voices should be elevated and intentionally integrated into our work. We embrace difference and diversity of identity, experience, and thought, and actively strive for inclusive behaviors across our company and our work. By promoting these values, we aim to create a positive work experience that encourages a sense of belonging.

Our commitment to D&I is reflected across our company, from our CEO’s involvement with the CEO Action Pledge for Diversity and Inclusion to our staff’s individual commitments to serving and engaging communities around our headquarters in Washington, D.C. and London. Our D&I Team and our D&I Councils elevate the voices of our global workforce by cultivating a culture of trust and respect for difference, including through education, resources, events, and dialogue. Our employee resource groups promote awareness and build understanding around common interests, backgrounds, and identities to create an inclusive workplace. Year-round, our Honoring Our Differences program works to increase awareness and consideration of cultural observances and traditions that highlight various intersectional identities. Meanwhile, our Standing Committee on Racial Equality strengthens our commitment to racial equality, centering its work on the experiences of the Black and African American community, as well as Indigenous persons and people of color, with a focus on improving staff care, increasing engagement and learning, tackling systemic and institutional issues, and supporting community outreach and activism. Whether we are hosting an event on LGBTQI+ global activism, sharing information about how to make remote work disability-inclusive, or fostering open dialogue on gender equality, we approach our activities with the intersectional understanding that we must always work harder to create an inclusive space for all of our employees’ unique identities, backgrounds, and experiences.
