Deogratius Kimera
Deogratius (Deo) Kimera has 25 years of international experience in health systems strengthening, including 17 years leading U.S. government-funded health supply chain projects as country director in Zambia, Ghana, Tanzania, and Botswana.
Deo has worked in health supply chain management in Uganda and played a pivotal role in the setup of the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) by supporting the HIV logistics systems in Nigeria under the Global HIV/AIDS Initiative Nigeria project. Deo is a public health specialist and trained pharmacist, with skills in leading supply chain projects for HIV/AIDS, malaria, family planning, and maternal, newborn, and child health. Deo has led sustainable development projects since 2007 and is an expert in the core functions of health commodities supply chain management.
Deo holds a pharmaceutical undergraduate degree from Makerere University Medical School and a master’s degree in public health and health economics from the University of Cape Town.
