Melissa Marland
As principal of USG Growth, Melissa leads business development with U.S. Government clients. She brings more than 20 years of experience in sustainable development and humanitarian assistance to the role, including expertise in proposal strategy, project design, monitoring and evaluation, capacity strengthening, knowledge management, process improvement, and quality control. Previously, as senior vice president of the Strategy division, Melissa led strategic planning and growth-oriented investments, supported multi-disciplinary thought leadership and business development efforts, and promoted a culture of evidence and learning. Earlier in her career, Melissa served as an executive with Land O’Lakes Venture 37 where she oversaw technical practices, recruitment, and business development.
Melissa holds an MSc. in agribusiness from Imperial College London and a B.A. in international relations from The College of William and Mary. She also completed executive education in innovation for economic development at Harvard University.
